Frontispiece, title page vignette, 1 fold-out plate of Alexandria, 2 other maps, 30 other steel-engraved plates, and 17 woodcuts. Blue cloth hardcover with gold and blank impressing. All edges gilt. Moderate rubbing and soiling to boards. Small hole in upper spine. Cracking at pp. 88-89, 104-105, 200-201. Ink stamp on both titles.
