Description:
New York: Paragon House / Washington Institute Press, December 1989. Hardcover. First Edition (stated). Purple linen over boards with silver lettering to spine. A Fine book in a Near Fine jacket. Interior pristine. Spine straight and tight. Label ghost to jacket rear panel. Spine lightly tanned. Not from a library. No remainder mark. Not clipped. xxxii + 427 pages. The primary issue of American foreign policy from 1968-1976 was a response to an increasing Soviet military power. As a result of Watergate, Kissinger began to take over foreign policy matters more and more. This book is largely an account of how Kissinger was able to move the United States away from Nixon's traditional containment policy to "tri-lateralism" and a greater dependency on collective security organizations. He also argues that Watergate was a set-up to oust Nixon.
