First edition and printing. In very good plus red textured cloth boards, gilt titles to spine. The boards are flat and clean; a little wobbly to front; spine ends slightly worn. Narrow tanned vertical strip to rear free end paper; the front free end paper is missing. Fairly clean cut edges. The text block is in very good condition with tightly bound, straight and clean pages, illustrated by Osbert Lancaster. No dedications etc. In good minus pictorial dust jacket with humorous image of aristocrats and blue border. The jacket is tanned and marked to rear; edge-worn with two one inch closed tears on top front edge. Not price clipped. With plastic cover over jacket.
