Full contemporary vellum with 18th or 19th century green leather gilt embossed title blocks to the head and tail of the spine. A full engraved title page from the famous Elzevir printers/booksellers/publishers - this one being Daniel Elzevir. The charming engraved title page shows an elderly man in his library with globe to one side of his chair, several books left out (him reading one) and a cat sitting on a ledge. Nothing before the engraved title page. Copper engraved head pieces and tail pieces. Some tiny ink lettering to the front paste-down with two ink letters to the upper corner (margin) of the title page and a letter 'R' to the upper corner of the following page.
