New York: Farrar, Rinehart, Inc., 1943. Book. Very Good. Cloth. Signed by Author(s). 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. 4to. Cloth. Illustrated with black and white reproductions of author's paintings, which were executed by Coale on a North Atlantic Patrol shortly before America's entry into World War II. Includes Coale's commentaries and excerpts from his diary. This copy has over 60 signatures the men who served with him throughout the book. Most have messages and addresses. Also included are three loose original photographs: two sepia photos of the crew of the North Atlantic Patrol and one photo of what appears to be the Captain and Coale himself. Foreword by Stephen Vincent Benet. Minor sunning to boards and shelf wear. Very good..
