The dust-jacket has the bottom half missing on the front panel and a large chip out of the spine at the top. There is a withdrawn stamp on ffep. The book with the endpaper maps showing the principle trading stations of the North West Company. When the first North West Company Co-partnership was formed in Montreal in 1779 the fur trade was North America's major industry and the only business of any account…. Campbell gives an account of the Seven Oaks Massacre, where the Métis had come together as an identifiable force in Western Canada, under Cuthbert Grant.
