Edinburgh, 1799. Two attractive double hemisphere world maps showing the track of the Resolution, James Cook's ship during his 2nd voyage from 1772 to 1780. The Resolution was the first ship to cross the Antarctic Circle. Likely from a Scottish edition of Cook's Voyages, the map illustrates the discoveries of Cook's 1st voyage, and the discoveries and tracks of the 2nd and 3rd voyages. Copper engravings, the hemispheres 9 7/8" in diameter on laid paper 11 x 12". Margin added, as usual, along one side below binding tab. A couple of small closed separations on folds otherwise nice condition. "T. Conder Sculpt"
