A selection of writings from the voluminous notebooks (5,000 manuscript pages in total) of the great Leonardo Da Vinci. These writings have been translated by Edward McCurdy in this Modern Library reprint edition. Edited, abridged and with an introduction by Robert N. Linscott. Volume wrapped in white jacket with image of Leonardo in red and white to front panel. --- In Toledano spine 8 / dark blue cloth / gilt titling on black spine & cover blocks / black topstain / grey Kent endpapers / jacket style i, verso lists 385 titles in ML catalog. Likely published c.1959 (though 1957 date appears in book). ML #156.2. --- A very nice copy: clean, tightly-bound and unmarked but with some spotting to topstain. Unclipped dust jacket ($1.65) with spots of soiling (especially to spine), else bright, intact and wrapped in new removable archival mylar protector.; 12mo (7 to 7-1/2 in. tall); xviii, 455, [6, ads] pages .
