About This Item
London: Rupert Hart-Davis, 1948. Creasing and some tears to edges of unclipped dustwrapper, with some bits missing from same at spine ends and at top edge, minor bumping to spine ends and corners of red boards, some yellowing to outer pages, but otherwise a good clean tight copy of this hard-cover book. Contains all seven of the mid-nineteenth century author Thomas Love Peacock's novels, namely "Headlong Hall", "Melincourt", "Nightmare Abbey", "Maid Marian", "The Misfortunes of Elphin", "Crotchet Castle" and "Gryll Grange", each with an introduction by David Garnett. A heavy book, packaged weight is just over a kilo, so extra postage would be required from buyers outside the UK. 982pp.. Hard Cover. Good/Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
