Ten volumes of eleven only (missing volume V). Tobias George Smollett (19 March 1721 – 17 September 1771) was a Scottish poet and author. He was best known for his picaresque novels, such as 'The Adventures of Roderick Random' (1748) and 'The Adventures of Peregrine Pickle' (1751), which influenced later novelists such as Charles Dickens. Bound at the Riverside Press (binder's ink stamp to front endpaper). In half-morocco bindings. Externally, smart, though with some bumping and rubbing to the extremities. Marks to the front board of the third volume. Six joints starting, with one joint cracked. One hinge is tender and may detach from the textblock edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
