Ben Shahn's striking illustrations accompany Wendell Berry's powerful poem written after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 26, 1963. Each double-page spread includes full-page illustrations opposite the words of the poem in block print. The final illustration is in color. The poem originally appeared in The Nation magazine and inspired Shahn to create this artwork. Spotless copy with original string handle to remove it from slipcase. Slipcase has light shelf wear and fading. Fine in very good slipcase..
