True First Edition with 1934 on Main Title Page and on the copyright page with no other printings listed. No Markings, beautiful green stained top page ends, other page ends are a touch off(light age toning) inside covers front ok but back is showing some browning, not much. NO WEAR, Sharp Corners, unread tightness and very square, light bruising to spine ends, did I mention No Visible WEAR. BUT the brown cloth covers are cloudy (only way I know to describe it), it is not all the same shade, its 2 shades of brown and no distinct pattern like a cloud...DJ: is ligthly faded because red fades with tim, it is slightly soiled keeping it from being as bright as new, light rubbing and light edgewear, a very very small chip just above the W in Now not effecting the letters. With light edgewear a long the edges and the corners, it is 99.90 complete except it does not have the fold out Reviews from inside front flap (my other one listed does). And there is a aged sticker on the front top corner "Recommended by the, BOOK-OF-THE-MONTH CLUB" I have seen at lease a half of a dozen of these 1st Edition that are not Book Club because of the price of $2.00 inside bottom front flap. I have owned this book for 15 years and there is no way I was going to remove it, if you decide to have it restored have them remove it(a professional). I have included a extra item with this book. 1) A signed leaf/page by the Author with just Signature "Josephine Johnson" in the middle and at the top corner there is a very light 15 in red pencil, trim it and it would be a beautiful way to present the book...
