The Nuer are a cattle-herding people dwelling in the swamp and savannah areas of southern Sudan. A study of primitive religion of interest to students of theology, comparative religion, Old Testament and related study disciplines. Noted that this study examines in some detail the Nuer concept of spirit. Completes the author's trilogy of works about these peoples ('The Nuer, A description ...' 1940, and 'Kinship & Marriage...' 1951) begun in 1930.
