Washington: Smithsonian Institution, 1926. Wonderful bookplate of James Lee Peters. Peters was Curator of Birds at the Museum of Comparative Zoology and author of Check-list of Birds of the World (1931-52). He was also a president of the AOU and a close friend of Alexander Wetmore for 40 years, spending much time in South America in the field with him. This is a presentation copy from Wetmore to Peters using the nicknames known to their close friends, Patagonia Pete and Duke of Wake Island. Wonderful assosiation copy.
