Pp. 304; chromolithograph color frontispiece and title page; 76 text-figures (woodcuts). Publisher's original olive green cloth, spine lettered in gilt and blind-stamped with floral decorations, the front cover is decorated in blind and with a centrally-placed elaborate and ornate gilt-decorated title vignette, 8vo. Inscribed on the front blank endpaper: "Ralph Brown from Alden W. Smith, Dec. 5, 1903."
