Original paperback bound into hardback with gilt spine lettering. Nicely bound in blue buckram matching the original wraps. Ex-library. 40 pages. First 4 pages contain a foreword by Alexander Crosby Brown, Intro by Frank Braynard, Artist's Note, Acknowledgements, Drawings' Owners, and a List of Illustrations. The remaining pages are full-page illustrations of different 19th century ships. Significant physical and historical details are provided in lower margins. Listed illustrations include wash drawings, pen and ink, and oil painting.
