Scottsville, NY: Privately Printed, 1958. Limited ed. Hardcover. fine. One of one thousand numbered copies signed by the author (of which this is No. 311). Hardcover. 207 pp. Illustrated with photos and floor plans. Scarce work on the history and design of octagonal houses, a "fad" that influenced Amercian architecture primarily in the 1850s and 1860s. There is a state-by-state listing with brief descriptions of these structures, a large section of photographs of them and a concluding section containing floor plans of two dozen of them. Fine, small Christmas gift inscription front free endpaper. Issued without dust jacket.
