About This Item

Methuen, 1935. Hardback. Very Good+. This was sold as part of a Stapledon auction lot as a "First Edition, Second Issue" (which is written in pencil on the front free endpaper). So a second printing, in a smaller trim size and a lavender binding (as opposed to the light blue of the true first), a Very Good+ copy with slight bend at head and heel, trace of wear at heel, small sticker pull on front free endpaper, and slight dust staining and spotting to page edges, and a tiny bit of wear elsewhere, lacking the dust jacket; a sturdy, square copy that looks as if it's only been read once or twice. Stapledon's celebrated homo superior novel.
