About This Item
New York: Harper & Row, (1965). First U.S. edition. Author's third mystery. Very good or better with corners and spine ends a little bumped, lower edges lightly rubbed, bookplate on rear endpaper ("From the library of" with nice map design but no name filled in, so it's ready to go); in bright, price-clipped dust jacket with inconspicuous tears along top spine folds (otherwise near fine).
Synopsis
Former hotshot jockey Sid Halley landed a position with a detective agency, only to catch a bullet from some penny-ante thug. Now, he has to go up against a field of thoroughbred criminals--and the odds are against him that he'll even survive.
