Hardcover second printing published by Knopf, 1967. 242 pages, dark blue cloth covered boards, with gold colored lettering for the title and author on the spine. The dust jacket is not price clipped, though it does show wear, with a long tear to the spine section, several short closed tears and edge wear - it has been protected with a clear, removable cover though. This is not a remainder, not a library discard. No writing on the text, no former ownership marks. The text is clean, the binding is tight and square. There is some light foxing spots to the edges of the text block. A travel memoir by one of the greatest short story writers of the 20th century, with journeys to Iran, Turkey, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Czechoslovakia. Interesting Cold War era travel conditions throughout. A good reading copy. The attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory, not a stock photo.
