London: Latimer House Ltd. [1949]. Very Good. 1949. First Edition. Hardcover. 255 pp., frontis; 8vo; black cloth, without dust jacket; map endpapers; black & white photographs, reproductions. Very minor wear along spine edge, leading corner tips; minor crease down spine; moderate foxing to foredge; occasional pencil marks, checks, brackets on approx. 5 scattered pages in the latter third of the volume. Signed by the author on title page. Also on title page, an oval rubber stamp for a private library "Anthony W. [Yulis], Received, with date in pen; a note in pen on lower right corner "Bought at Sokol Hall, 1960, J.J.B." Second rubber stamp lower right corner of last index page, 255. Jostin was an exiled Czechoslovakian official who worked with Jan Masaryk in Prague until just before Masaryk's death and the eventual takeover by Communists. The book presents the author's inside view of the Czechoslovakian crisis, which he attributes to careful planning done in Moscow. Josten also asserts that Masaryk's death was a suicide rather than the result of murder.; Signed by Author(s) .
