Cassell and Company, Ltd, London, Toronto, Melbourne and Sydney, 1937. Reprint. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Pale blue coloured cloth covered boards with black coloured titles to the back strip. Set in the last years of the Ch'ing Dynasty, and deals with an young American oil representative and of his experiences as the Imperial dynasty fades. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges rubbing of the top book corners and lower book edges. Some marks and sunning to the back strip with a few light marks to the book panels. Age toning of the text block edges and pages with scattered foxing to the text block edges. Offset tanning to the end pages with gift inscription to the free front end page. The hinge has cracked between the half title page and title page, with the underlying webbing visible. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [8], 392 pages.. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
