This is the 1767 printing in a 20th c. linen binding with an 18th c. leather title label on spine, probably used when rebound. Condition of the text is GOOD ; with mild to moderate foxing throughout, but highly readable. Sides of text block are darkened, more so at top. Binding tight. Linen boards are slightly worn at corners and ends of spine, covers very clean. Spine darkened. A rarity. Poetry. RGR.

Handsomely rebound in late 19th century 3/4 red morocco with brown cloth. 5 raised bands and gilt titles on spines. Engraved vignette on either title page. Lacks original blank endpapers, but both half-title present. The leather shows light wear to the corners and spine ends. Contents bold and unmarked, with only a few pages showing small, faint fox marks. Previous owner's bookplate on the front pastedown of both books, and small signature on the front blank of both. Complete in 2 volumes. Very rare first edition.
