About This Item
Old Cape Colony Committee, 1926. Softcover. Good/No Jacket. Signed. 85 pages plus advertising pages (complete). Signed by Arthur Elliott at the end of his preface. Elliott was one of the most extraordinary photographers in South Africa's history. He started recording quotidian and architectural Cape Town and beyond in 1900 and eventually amassed a collection of over 10,000 photographs. This exhibition was one of several travelling the country over time. The covers are much worn, marked from use, shelving all about. They are quietly secure and sure. The early and later pages are much foxed. The contents have evidence of careful use, particularly about the page edges and corners. Despite foxing fore and aft and the papertrims. However, the pages are overwhelmingly clean, clear, comfortable, convivial, conscientious, certain. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
