From the collection of Alfred Ernest Hamill, Chicago and Lake Forest investment banker, book collector, philanthropist, and president of the Newberry Library Board of Trustees, 1929-1953. Bookplate design by Thomas Maitland Cleland, American artist and book designer. Finely bound by Hertzberg of Chicago (old pencil note rear end page) in crushed dark blue morocco, 5 raised bands and gilt lettering at spine, top edges gilt, blue buckram endpapers. Near Fine, tiny rubs at corners. The last copy to auction was in 1909. . First Edition. Morocco. Near Fine/No Jacket, As Issued. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
