A stunning selection of work from this period, accompanying a beautifully illustrated bibliography. ____DESCRIPTION: Wrap-around, pictorial stiff paper wrappers printed in colour, white lettering on the spine, frontispiece a colour photograph of the McDowalls, fully illustrated with most entries having colour photographs; quarto size, measuring 11 3/8" by 8 1/4", [1-4] 5-135 [1 colophon] pp, special edition, number II of XV, of a total edition of 1,000, signed by Frances and Nicolas McDowall. With a two-fold blue cloth portfolio housing forty individual pieces of ephemera, all together in a grand fall-down-back box of navy-blue cloth, white paper spine label with green lettering, lined in illustrated paper and suede, with an inset tray for the book and blue silk ribbon, the box measuring 16 3/4" by 14". ___CONDITION: A fine copy, the covers clean, the corners straight and unrubbed, the binding tight with solid hinges, the interior clean and bright, and free of prior owner markings; clean, crisp, as new. The wallet containing the ephemera, and the pieces themselves, also fine, clean and without wear; the grand outer box fine, strong and sturdy, clean and without wear.
