Includes The Story of Shitakiri Suzume (The Tongue-cut Sparrow), The Story of Nezumi No Yomeiri (The Marriage of a Mouse) and The Story of Urashima Taro (The Fisherman). The first of four volumes of Japanese folk tales published just after World War II. Foreword by Elizabeth Grey Vining. 92 pp plus final illustration and a list of the 4 volumes. Decorative endpapers.
