Ca. 1840.. Engraving with original handcolor, sheet 6 1/2 x 4 inches. Very good condition. Plate 9 from one of William Jardine's Naturalist's Library volumes. A beautifully patterned green, lavender, pink, yellow and black moth and a striking yellow, pink and green caterpillar, the botanical background is etched in lightly. Engraved by Lizars. .
