About This Item
Berkeley: University of California Press, 1947. Hardcover. Very good. 226 pp, indexed and illustrated, in original green cloth binding with title panels in black on front board and spine. Some foxing, especially to margins of plates. Binding tight, text clean. No dust jacket. Inscribed on the front free endpaper: "To Sid and Alice Kennedy, In Appreciation of the happy times we have enjoyed together. Betty & Carl Russell, Evanston, Ill. June 30, 1947." We are not certain if this inscription was written by Carl Russell himself, of by Betty. Russell was Chief Naturalist for the National Park Service.
