San Francisco: [Helen Sloss Luey], 1978. xi, 144p., slight wear at extremities, folded plate a little crimped, with no dj most likely as issued. Done by Lawton Kennedy in his almost-fine-press manner, with rubricated heads and deckled margin; doubtless limited w/o a specified limitation. Folded plate is of a stock certificate which formed the subject of one of his talks.

BINDING/CONDITION: rust colored cloth with gilt text; the fore-edges are untrimmed, and some pages were uncut -- a few have been inexpertly opened, with the worst mistake being that someone ''opened'' the folding map - this has been repaired with tape; owner's gift note on the front endpaper (the note gives owner name and then states ''a gift of the author''), some light soling to the cloth; Good condition; no dust jacket.. small 4to (10 inches tall) . Description: Includes one black and white fold-out plate. The title page is printed in red and black. Chapter headings also in red (rust rather). A self-published book comprised of several papers presented at the Chit-Chat Club, a group that met on Mondays. Includes essays ''Of Shoes and Ships and Sealing'' (about Louis Sloss's life in Germany, the formation of the Alaska Commercial Company, and the Sloss family in general) and ''Locus Sigilli'' (about the Pribilof Islands in Alaska).…
