Roma: Iacobum Tornerium, 1590. Black leather spine label. Vellum scuffed near foot. Decorated paper-covered boards.Elaborate title-page printed in red and black. Engraved initial letters, head and tail pieces. Colophon: "Romae, apud Iacobum Ruffinellum. 1590".Mild-to-moderate foxing through text, never heavy. Jacopo Sannazaro (1458-1530) was an Italian humanist best known for his masterpiece "Arcadia". OCLC lists 6 libraries worldwide with this edition of the work. APPC shows no copies of this edition sold at auction in the past 25 years. There are three entries for the 1570 edition printed in Venice by Aldus. 352pp., quires in eights.. 1/2 Vellum Over boards.. Light Edge Wear and Soiling/No Jacket. 5 3/8" x 3 1/2".
