Lugduni Batavorum (Leiden): Ex Officina Hackiana, 1670. One volume in two - Volume One - [16], 416pp and Volume Two - 417-844pp, [32]. Later (late-eighteenth century) full-calf, raised bands, spines in six panels, contrasting title / volume labels to second and third panels, volute corner pieces and central lozenge shaped tool to remaining panels, gilt flower head frame to covers, all edges marbled with blue paste endpapers. Volume two lacks author label, volume one slightly chipped to head of spine, rubbed to extremities. Lightly browned internally, light water stain to corners of the first few pages, otherwise fairly bright and clean. Engraved title by Persyn. Dibdin calls this the "best Variorum edition ... It is elegantly printed by Hackius, and was superintended by Thysius ... It is now a scarce book" (Dibdin II:522). Latin text. First Thus. Full Calf. Good. Illus. by Persyn, R.A.. 8vo.
