The wraps have edge wear, some spotting, with the spine being lightly sunned with several vertical creases. Front cover detached. Previous owners address sticker inside front cover, text unmarked.

Chapel Hill, NC: The Orange Printshop, 1953. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo. 389 pages, indexed. Hardcover bound in black cloth. Light to moderate wear to the binding. There are a couple of signatures on the front endpapers. One reads, "Oct. 7, 1953 / In appreciation / L. J. Phipps." Phipps was one of the contributors to the book and wrote Chapter 17, "The Churches of Orange County." He was also the Chairman of the (Orange County) Bicentennial Committee. Laid in loosely is a brochure for the Orange County Bicentennial Observance, dated Oct. 7-13, 1953, where apparently this book was purchased. There is an old brown tape stain at the top of the title page where the brochure had been taped and detached. A sound copy. We've found a little pencil underlining in Phipps' chapter on Orange County churches. Illustrated with photos.

The Orange Printshop, 1953. Paperback. Acceptable. No dustjacket as issued. Cover has wear, soiling, a large crease in upper right front and lower left rear corners, a moderate crease in lower right front corner, a small crease in upper left rear corner, a cup ring on front, a small rough area on top rear edge, and spine is slightly darkened. Last 45 pages have some insect damage on top edge. First page has a moderate stain in lower right corner. A separation of binding has occurred between the last picture and next page at two places within the book. Everything is still intact and no loose pages. A black mark next to some of the names on seventeen pages in the Dictionary of Orange County Biography section and index toward the end of the book. A moderate ink stain on two pages towards the end of the book.
