Comments: Three volume set INSCRIBED by the author, Edward Everett, on a note tipped in on front free end`paper. Light rubbing along edges with a small stain to one corner of volume 1. Pages clean and bindings secure. Half leather covers with marbled boards, end papers, and page edges. Spine is gilt embossed calf with raised bands. Everett is the former secretary of state, governor of Massachusetts, and president of Harvard. He was also a Whig party candidate for President in 1860. (In L3 box121.)
