Firenze [i.e. Florence]: Nella Tipografia Bonducciana e presso Luigi Molini, 1855. 106pp. Contemporary gilt-ruled half-calf, green cloth boards, contrasting morocco lettering-piece. A trifle rubbed and marked. Marbled endpapers, armorial bookplate of Thomas Gaisford to FEP, scattered foxing. A mid-nineteenth-century Florentine edition of playwright and poet Pietro Aretino's (1492-1556) only published tragedy, first printed in 1546, widely considered one of the finest examples of Italian theatrical tragedy to emerge in the sixteenth-century. . Terza edizione [i.e. third edition]. 8vo.
