Slightly smaller, thicker book, tan cloth with ornate dark red illustration of shield, tomahawk and peace pipe on front, name and address at top inside front cover, frontispiece illustration on photo paper of American Indian by Frederic Remington entitled "The War Whoop." 381 lightly browned pages, ink note inside back cover, illustrations by Remington throughout. Tiny dark spots on front, light crease at bottom front tip, tiny dent just above, very tiny threading at spine bottom left edge, micronicks along spine bottom edge. Near Very Good.
Synopsis
On April 28, 1846, Francis Parkman left Saint Louis on his first expedition west. The Oregon Trail documents his adventures in the wilderness, sheds light on America's westward expansion, and celebrates the American spirit.
