Quincy, MA?, ca. 1870. Small bifolium; pencil manuscript on first and last panels only; previous folds, some light soil, else Very Good and quite legible. Detailed guide to knitting baby shoes, printed on the blank leaves of the Lecture program of the 1870 Unitarian Society of Quincy, whose speakers that year included the Universalist preacher and poet Edwin Hubbell Chapin, and Unitarian clergyman Henry Whitney Bellows. Found and offered out of the same box: four contemporary leather baby shoes (none matching), an embroidered and ribboned heart decoration, and a pin cushion in the form of a miniature book of gilt boards, the spine title "The March of Intellect."
