Chamonix: Photographie Alpine Tairraz, 1900 nd. c. 1900. Original photographic print (landscape format, 29cm x 23cm), unmounted, with photographer's rsm to reverse, and facsimile handwritten title and signature to printed image. The view depicts the Flegere Refuge looking over the Grand Jorasses and Mer de Glace towards Mont Blanc. Corners a little rubbed and bumped, but otherwise in very good condition. The Tairraz familly were one of the most celebrated companies of Alpine photographers, spanning four generations from Joseph (born 1827), Georges (born 1868), Georges II (born 1900) and Pierre (1933-2000). Georges was regarded as one of the best mountain photographers of his generation.. VG.
