About This Item
St. Vladimir's Seminary Press, January 1998. Paper Back. New. There must be at least a half-dozen books and booklets by the same title, but this one, along with Kallistos Ware's, stands near the summit. Originally published in French in 1960, revised in 1981 and again in 1996, this introduction to Orthodoxy is marked by Meyendorff's careful, prototypically excellent scholarship. Reading him is always profitable. His analysis of the schism with the West, and outline of the state of Orthodoxy in the contemporary world, are the great strengths of this book.
