Inscribed by the author to Elspeth Huxley (who wrote the foreword for the book) on front endpaper, and dated April 1995. Dustjacket condition: Very good, with sunning to spine and just a hint of shelfwear. 266pp. Twelve b/w plates and two b/w maps. Oscar Watkins strove unceasingly to protect the interests of the African peoples in East Africa, particularly Kenya. This biography by his daugter provides him with in the words of Elspeth Huxley "an eloquent and fitting memorial".
