A large tradecard for Ehrich Bros., a 19th century dry goods store in New York featuring a lithograph based on a NAPOLEON SARONY photograph (No. 18) of OSCAR WILDE taken in 1882. This was the basis of the first copyright infringement lawsuit against the Burrow-Giles Lithographic Company for the copyright infringement of a photograph by Napoleon Sarony in 1884. Sarony won a $610 judgement (the equivalent of $16,000 today). Tradecard measures 11 1/2" x 7". Very good condition, some chipping along the edges, small crease upper right corner, paper loss upper left corner and some minimal paper wrinkling as seen in detailed images (images 6-9).
