About This Item
New York: World Publishing Co. 1972. First edition, first printing. First edition, first printing. Inscribed presentation copy. Publisher's original blue leatherette, in the acetate dustwrapper printed in white and red. Top edge blue. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and tight with a little surface wear at the spine folds. The contents are clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the original glassine which has a couple of tiny chips and splits at the extremities. Correctly priced $6.95 to the upper front flap and with the publisher's code A3918 to the lower panel. An attractive example of a brittle production. Inscribed by the author in blue ink on the red front endpaper "For Jeanette Walldorf / My thanks - hope you enjoy / Robert Ludlum". The author's second book, the basis for the 1983 Sam Peckinpah directed film of the same name starring Rutger Hauer, John Hurt, Burt Lancaster and Dennis Hopper.
