Includes original promotional leaflet. Follows from author's earlier two earlier works, 'Young Samurai' and 'Naked Festival'. Presents 85 studies of 51 young Japanese males around the age of twenty. "I should like to compare the young men who appear here to perfectly wrought balls of jade because of their unique perfection". Yatō was an important pioneer of homoerotic photography in Japan. He took up photography around the mid-1960s and created three important photobooks featuring male nudes of which this was the last - generally regarded as his masterpiece.
