Decorated American trade binding, first edition. Green cloth boards with darker green, red and silver fish decoration on cover, fishing hook and fly design on spine, stamped gold lettering. Very slight browning to spine. Slight surface wear to spine corners, no fraying or wear-through. Binding is tight and square, pages and edges are clean with gilt top page edges. Small previous owner name and date neatly penned on front free endpaper. Fifteen illustrations, including frontispiece with tissue guard. Decorated title page. Preface by the author. 357 pages with index. An extended investigation of the Ouananiche (a salmon of landlocked populations living in lakes in Labrador and Newfoundland)..
