An important book for all who wish to know more about Joyce the man and the background/inspiration for his characters. Padraic Colum himself was an important poet and playwright, a founder of the Abbey Theatre; later he was an American academic and editor. This is a Very Good (Plus) to Near Fine copy of the First American Edition (stated First Edition), which precedes the English issue. Light greenish-blue binding with silver titling on the spine. Clean text; 239 pages. There is rubbing to the head of the spine, which is lightly faded; some rub to the corners, but they remain square. The dustjacket is unclipped; light chipping along the edges; spine darkened. In an archival plastic protector.. First American Edition.. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
