About This Item
Glendale, California: Arthur H. Clark Company, 1971. Hardcover. Near Fine/None. Volume itself has red cloth covers with gilt lettering on the spine. There is a bit of wear at the head and tail of the spine and at corners. The top of the pages is dyed red and is not faded. The parallel accounts of these two journalists are complementary in their tale of overland travel at the close of the Civil War and just prior to the opening of the transcontinental railroad. Days on the Road by Sarah Raymond Herndon, a 270 page volume printed in 1901 in a small edition and based on her diary, is reproduced. A clear archival quality Brodart cover protects the book itself. A quite nice copy; available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box.
