Volume I: 3 colour and numerous black and white plates, 8 panoramas, large colour folding map, xix + 416pp. Volume II: 3 colour and numerous black and white plates, 4 panoramas, large colour folding map, xiv + 357pp, index. Top edge gilt. Blue cloth covered boards with camel device stamped in gilt on the upper boards of each volume, both spines sunned, cloth little flecked. Endpapers, title pages and frontispiece tissue guards considerably browned, some foxing throughout but contents quite sound. 23 x 14cm. Most of this work is devoted to a description of Sven Hedin's journey through Persia with some chapters on Afghanistan and Baluchistan in volume II. .
