About This Item
London: Macmillan and Co., Limited, 1910. Hardcover. First Edition, First Printing. Octavo (8vo). xix. 416pp. + '308 illustrations from photographs, water-colour sketches, and drawings by the author and 2 maps.' Publisher's cloth boards with gilt titling. VERY GOOD. Shows slight shelf rubbing of the boards, ever so slightly cocked, former owner gift inscription on the endpaper dated 1910, the large folding color map at the backmost shows a short closed tear and light creasing along one edge, otherwise the binding is strong and tight, the text and images are clean and unmarked, and the boards remain bright and distinct. As pictured.
