Oxford: Oxford University Press. Fair with no dust jacket. [1948]. Hardcover. One leaf (pp.49-50) has a large 5" tear with an untidy sellotape repair. Some staining to margins of leaves. Boards rubbed and worn. 3/8" loss of paper at corners of boards. ; No date [1948]. 505 pages. Papered boards with cloth spine. The date on the title page is 1946, on the cover title it is 1948. Slip tipped in at half-title page: "The text of this Catalogue stands as in 1946 but the Alphabetical List contains books in print at 31 March 1948." The catalogue records that most of the annual large Sheet Almanacks from as far back as 1716 ("the earliest for which the Oxford Press possesses the original plates") were still available at a price of 4s. 6d. each (page 95). The Almanacks were first published in 1674. ; 8vo .
