A Major Polonaise for the pianoforte arranged by Maxwell Eckstein (c.1905 - 1974). Strong copy with red check marks, faint creasing to upper front corner & archival tape reinforced spine. Frédéric Chopin (1810 - 1849) composed some 23 poloanises (a slow dance of Polish origin in triple time, consisting chiefly of an intricate march or procession) for the solo piano.. He wrote his first polonaise in 1817 at the tender age of seven. Among the best known polonaises are this 1841 "Military" Polonaise in A, Op. 40, No. 1.
